Pre-Construction Info Session Tonight
The Braddock West team is excited to share a project update with the community. Following up on our hand-delivered flyers to neighbors directly adjacent to the site, we will be hosting a pre-construction information session this evening (Tuesday, August 23rd) at the Charles Houston Recreation Center (901 Wythe Street, Alexandria, VA), beginning at 6:30 PM.
Since receiving City Council approval for the development in summer 2021, we have been working with our team of architects and engineers to finalize the construction and permit plans. Phase 1 of the project is scheduled to commence in September 2022 and includes the undergrounding of overhead telecom and electrical lines surrounding the site, as well as the installation of sanitary sewer upgrades along Wythe Street. Completion of the Phase 1 utility upgrades is required for construction vehicles to access the project’s site for the building construction. Phase 2 will begin upon the completion of the offsite infrastructure in 2023, with an estimated project delivery in 2025.
Thank you for your patience as we work towards transforming this Metro-adjacent site to a mixed-use residential building with an improved pedestrian experience on the block, neighborhood-serving retail, and improved infrastructure that will support the neighborhood and Alexandria.
As Phase 1 construction progresses, please continue to check this site for additional updates on the project and construction logistics. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out via email if you have any questions or concerns throughout the project’s construction.
